Automatic Pneumatic Self-Centering Vise: Built for Faster, Repeatable Production In high-volume machining, every setup matters

Ideal for high-volume and automated machining, the Automatic Pneumatic Self-Centering Vise from Rapid Holding Systems clamps parts with pneumatic actuation, holding the same position and the same clamping force every cycle without operator adjustment.

The Automatic Pneumatic Self-Centering Vise is designed for shops running repeat jobs, robotic loading, or CNC production, where manual adjustment, re-alignment, and re-checking of parts between cycles slows production before the machine even starts cutting. Instead of relying on an operator to clamp and verify each part by hand, the vise uses pneumatic actuation to move both jaws simultaneously toward the center, clamping the workpiece quickly and consistently, cycle after cycle.

By moving both jaws inward at the same time, the vise keeps the workpiece centered during clamping and removes the need for extra adjustment between parts. The vise has a 5 mm stroke and is available with pneumatic or hydraulic actuation, with air fed from the side or bottom of the body.

Built for production environments

The Automatic Pneumatic Self-Centering Vise is built with hardened and ground alloy steel components for the strength needed in demanding, high-volume production. The body is fully sealed against chips, coolant, and debris to protect the internal mechanism during daily machining.

For automated cells, the vise includes a 150 x 126 mm mounting interface, making it ready to integrate directly into robotic loading applications. The consistent clamping position and force also make it well suited to CNC production, automated production cells, and repeat part runs where setup variation has to be minimized.

Jaw options for different applications

Different parts call for different jaw setups, so the vise can be paired with several compatible jaw options depending on the application:

This range of jaw sets lets machinists hold a variety of part shapes, materials, and machining requirements without changing vises.
